Summit Holdings Now Represents Collins Type A Buses
Summit Holdings is pleased to announce their newest vehicle product line — Collins Type A buses. In addition to their existing IC Bus line-up of school and commercial buses (which includes Type B, C, and D buses), Summit Bus of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma now represents and services Collins Type A buses.
Summit Bus of Oklahoma became a Collins Type A bus dealership in the fall of 2015, while Summit Bus of Albuquerque has represented this product line for some time. Summit chose to become a Collins bus dealer in Oklahoma in order to provide the best Type A bus product to their existing customer base, as well as to new customers. David Carney, Sales Manager in Oklahoma City, explained that “Collins has shown a superior ability to react to market demands and offer product that best fits our customers’ unique business needs, including adding the Ford Transit chassis line and CNG capabilities.”
A key feature of Collins bus bodies is that they are constructed with strong, one-piece tubular steel roof bows. A wide range of chassis options are available, including Chevy, Ford, and the new Ford Transit, which offers superior maneuverability. In addition, a wide variety of powertrain options are available. The Type A bus product is ideal for school districts, day care centers, and the commercial bus industry.
The proximity of Collins’ manufacturing facility in Hutchinson, Kansas, allows Summit Bus to offer superior parts support for the Collins Type A bus product. This new partnership between Summit Bus and Collins is a natural fit due to the two companies’ similar cultures that focus on providing the best customer experience in the industry.
Dan Keefe, General Manager of Summit’s Oklahoma City location adds that, “Summit Bus now having the ability to offer a Type A bus allows us to better serve our customers, especially when it comes to parts and service support.” Summit has 5 locations within the state of Oklahoma — Ardmore, Enid, Muskogee, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa — where customers can benefit from receiving quality parts and service support. In New Mexico, Summit Bus supports customers through locations in Albuquerque and Farmington.
Summit is pleased to offer this additional bus product for all of our customers as part of the complete package of products, services, and support available through Summit locations.
