Summit Truck Group Hires Two New Operations Directors
Area Operations Directors Manage Fixed Operations at Summit Dealerships
January 9, 2018 – Summit Truck Group is pleased to announce the recent hiring of two new Area Operations Directors. Each Area Operations Director (AOD) oversees all fixed operations (parts, service, and body shop departments) for 2-4 dealership locations in a specific geographical area.
Mr. Shane Candelaria joined Summit Truck Group on January 2nd as an Area Operations Director, to manage fixed operations at Summit locations in Albuquerque and Farmington, New Mexico. For the past 23 years, Candelaria worked for a chemical management solutions provider, with warehousing, transportation, training, and consulting services. For the last 17 years of his tenure with that company, Candelaria was director of operations/vice president, where he helped the business grow from 2 locations to 23. He is pleased to be part of the Summit team, saying, “I look forward to this new chapter in my career where I look to apply my experience, dedication, and commitment towards achieving Summit’s overall goals and objectives.”
On January 8th, Ms. Jackie Bell joined Summit as Area Operations Director, overseeing dealerships in Little Rock and Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Bell spent the past 23 years in the commercial truck dealership environment, starting out as a parts delivery driver in 1994, then working her way up to parts sales positions, and eventually to general manager positions for the past ten years at two different commercial truck dealership groups. During her tenure at her last dealer group, Bell orchestrated and led a dynamic turnaround of an under-performing location — increasing sales and overseeing the renovation and addition to the facility due to strong business growth — resulting in an increase of 680% of net profit in just four years. About her new position, Bell said, “I am excited about the opportunity to get back to work in my old territory and reconnect with friends and customers and to represent the best products in the industry. The decision to work for a company like Summit was a no-brainer.”
Steve Dupuis, Chief Operating Officer for Summit Truck Group, noted that he was pleased with the two new Area Operations Directors joining the Summit Team. “Both Shane and Jackie have the skills set — as well as the experience, motivation, and commitment — to have a positive influence on the fixed operations of the dealerships under their direction,” said Dupuis. “We look forward to the overall impact they will have within Summit. Summit’s Area Operations Directors work in conjunction with Area Sales Directors (ASD), who serve in a similar capacity, overseeing new and/or used truck or bus sales operations for a specific area.
